for the layered, complex, and complicated. aren’t we all?

your online big sis.

SPILL.

SPILL.

2 all my-

Writers, Photographers, Videographers, Painters, DANCERS, Designers, Directors, Actors, you name it. There’s a very high chance, you saw the opportunity to attend a University and thought ehh… better not.

So. here you are.

FACING THE CREATIVE DILEMMA.

Sometimes I’m like- shit,

should’ve become a FUCKING surgeon or accountant…

UNFORTUNATELY (FORTUNATELY), I’m really bad with numbers & I’m the clumsiest person I know. so, surgery? MAYBE NOT so tight. could’ve gone the 9-5 route, sat at a desk all day, had some sense of “security,” but is that actually fulfilling? Is a secure salary the key to happiness? No, it’s not.

“No one said the path would be easy, but they also didn’t tell you how rewarding it is to explore your purpose and TO naturally build a career off it. “

may I just say-

it’s really fucking stressful to “HAVE” to be creative.

CLEARLY, creatives are NATURALLY creative, but once your hobbies and talents ARE PUT under pressure, EEEEVERYTHING CHANGES. ALL OF THE SUDDEN YOU NEED TO BE GOOD ENOUGH to GENERATE AN INCOME? MOTHER F*CKER!

I like to call this: The Creative Dilemma.

I won’t lie to you- it’s not going anywhere. I might be a fresh 25, but I’m positive ON THIS ONE. BUT, it WILL become a lot fucking easier. The more confidence and balance we attain in our real life, the BETTER.

you MAY start to ENTER a RABBIT HOLE of creating based on what other’S would like and not just for the hell of it.

LISTEN-

IT’S completely understandable. Once money is involved, you obviously have to be profitable. BUT, as we know, the key to success is being authentically you as possible. ONCE YOU START TO SPIRAL, YOU easily LOSE ALL CONFIDENCE IN YOUR ABILITies, IDEAS, AND VISIONS. FOR WHAT? THE FEAR OF IT NOT turning out as planned?

My cure to The Creative Dilemma:

This iNCLUDES an exercise from my bible. I’ve MAYBE mentioned IT 40 times BUT INCASE YOU FORGOT: “The Success Principles,” by THE G jack canfield.

  • GET TF OFF SOCIAL MEDIA. SERIOUSLY. A KEY FACTOR OF THE CREATIVE DILEMMA IS COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS. YOU ARE THE ONLY YOU AND YOUR ART IS SOLELY YOUR ART, SO HOW COULD ANYTHING BE COMPETITION? THERE’S ENOUGH TO GO AROUND FOR ALL OF US.

  • MAKE A LIST OF WHAT MADE YOUR SOUL FLY AS A CHILD. FINGER PAINTING? TIE-DYE? CHILDREN HAVE THE BIGGEST IMAGINATIONS FOR ONE REASON ONLY: THEY DON’T GIVE A FUCK WHAT PEOPLE THINK. ONCE A WEEK, START DOING YOUR FAVORITE CHILDHOOD ACTIVITIES ARE SEE HOW IT INFLUENCES YOUR WORK AND VISION.

  • Create your life’s purpose statement. This one is CRUCIAL and from our boy, Jack.

A painter wants to paint, but, what’s the actual purpose behind what they’re doing?

    1. List 2 Unique personal qualities, such as enthusiasm and creativity.

    2. List one or two ways you enjoy expressing those qualities when interacting with others, such as to support and to inspire.

    3. Assume the world is perfect right now. What does the world look like? How is everyone interacting with everyone else? What does it feel like? Write your answer as a statement, in the present tense, describing the ultimate condition, the perfect world as you see it and feel it. Remember, a perfect world is a fun place to be.

    4) Combine the three prior subdivisions of this paragraph into a single statement.

-STEP 3 LITERALLY CHANGED MY LIFE. EVEN IF YOU DON’T CONSIDER YOURSELF CREATIVE, PLEASE TRY IT.

complete step 3.

“My life’s purpose is To use my creativity & insight to share & inspire others to move with flow, emulating that vibrancy to the rest of the world.”

what’s yours?
